K-State Legacy Program
Undergraduate
Out-of-State, Need-Based Tuition Discount
- To be
eligible for consideration, a new student must have at least one
parent who is a K-State graduate AND be admitted to the university; as
a high school student have a 3.0 g.p.a. and as a transfer student must
have earned at least a 3.5 g.p.a. on 24 hours of college work. The
legacy is $3,000 per year.
- To assist the
university in supporting the Legacy program with funding from
need-based institutional sources, all recipients must complete the
FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by March 1.
- This discount
tuition program is renewable with a K-State cumulative g.p.a. of 3.0.
For freshmen, it is renewable for up to three years; for transfer
students, it is renewable for up to two years.
- This discount
program cannot be used in conjunction with any other tuition discount
program including, but not limited to, the Missouri Reciprocal
Agreement and the Midwest Student Exchange Program.
- Current
Legacy K-State students who have earned a 3.5 cumulative g.p.a. while
at the university and have demonstrated financial need will be
guaranteed at least $3,000 in need-based assistance or K-State merit
scholarship awards for a total of $3,000 per year. This provision will
not exceed the freshman or transfer student commitment of total years
of support through this program.
- Internal
criteria: A student with a 27 ACT and below may receive up to $3,000
annually; a student with a 28 ACT and above may receive up to $6,000
annually.
